raised its September same-store sales forecast Monday, projecting roughly 5% growth for the month.

Target's earlier projections called for a 3% to 5% rise in same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year.

The higher forecast comes after Target's same-store sales for the past two months missed Wall Street's expectations, fueling broader concerns about the health of consumer spending.
