"PNC (PNC) - Get Report is just the classic case of a bank that was set up for the old TARP," Jim Cramer said on Tuesday's "Stop Trading!" segment on CNBC. "SunTrust (STI) - Get Report was like Fort Knox. This stock is being knocked over every single day."
He said these banks are "being viewed as big losers" right now. "I think it's a real comeuppance," he said. "These were the conservative American banks. The conservative banks are being taken apart."
"It really is incredible," Cramer concluded. "If the market were down today, how much would they be down?"
At the time of publication, Cramer had no positions in stocks mentioned.
