named Timothy L. Chapman to the new post of senior vice president, business strategy.
Chapman, age 43, will become a member of Steris's senior management team, reporting to CEO Les C. Vinney. He has responsibility for leading the Mentor, Ohio, health-care company's strategic planning, business development and supply chain management activities.
Chapman will also have responsibility for leading the company's multiyear performance transformation program designed to improve business and management processes and establish a common culture.
"Having served Steris in a consulting role for several years, Tim joins us with a deep understanding of our operations," said Vinney. "In addition, his wealth of operational and health-care industry experience, managing issues for an array of institutions such as hospital, medical supply and insurance clients, makes him a valued addition as he brings a unique perspective to our organization."
Chapman joins from McKinsey's Cleveland office.
On Friday, Steris shares fell 7 cents to $24.98.
