board approved a special cash dividend of 10 cents a share, in addition to a regular quarterly cash dividend of 10 cents a share.
The dividends will be paid to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 31, payable April 14.
The company said it plans to declare the special dividend every quarter in 2006, resulting in a total special cash dividend of 40 cents a share.
Steel Dynamics said the continued payment of the special dividend during 2006 is contingent upon many factors, including its future growth opportunities, results of operations, financial position and cash flows.
