The pumpkin spice latte starts rolling out Friday at Starbucks (SBUX) - Get Report . TheStreet's founder and Action Alerts PLUS portfolio manager Jim Cramer isn't very bullish on PSLs, and thinks Starbucks must crack the code on getting order in advance capabilities everywhere to jump-start sales.
Meanwhile, Starbucks executive chairman Howard Schultz is in the news again.
America has been ravaged the past weeks by acts of hate and the devastating impacts of Tropical Storm Harvey, but its citizen's response to such events becoming "better angels" is the American way, Schultz wrote in the Financial Times on Thursday.
"All of us in positions of power - from politicians to parents, chief executives to educators - must see ourselves as part of history's bigger picture and ask, 'What is my responsibility to the republic?'," he wrote.
Following the protests in Charlottesville, Schultz spoke out about the need to unite the country through moral strength, and to find ways to work together to bring positive changes to communities across the country.
"With words and actions, better angels emerged then," he wrote. "They must do so again today. The hope I expressed in the op-ed about Charlottesville is being realized in Texas. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, our country's better angels are showing up with compassion and incredible strength as Americans help Americans through this tragedy."
