said Thursday its same-store sales for December rose 8% and total revenue grew 24% from the year-ago period.
The specialty coffee retailer, which is based in Seattle, said revenue totaled $281 million, up from $227 million in the equivalent period last year.
For the first fiscal quarter of 2001, the company said revenue rose to $667 million, a 26% increase from $529 million in the year-ago period. The company didn't provide specific earnings guidance, but 18 analysts polled by

are calling for the company to earn 23 cents in the quarter, up from 18 cents in the year-ago period.
