Solectron

is closing a factory in Georgia, and as a result, the company said 750 workers will lose their jobs.

The job cuts come on top of the workforce reduction Solectron announced in mid-March, when the company said it would eliminate 8,200 positions.

Solectron, an electronics contract manufacturer, is closing its circuit board manufacturing plant in Suwanee, Ga., and transferring the production to another facility. About 325 temporary positions at the plant will also be terminated.

Shares of Solectron fell $1.29, or 7.1%, to $16.89 at the 4 p.m. close of

New York Stock Exchange

trading Tuesday.
