Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) - Get Report shares were lower after hours on Tuesday after the chip maker reported fiscal-fourth-quarter earnings per share came up a penny short of analysts' estimates on 18% lower revenue.
In the quarter ended Sept. 27, the Irvine, Calif., company earned $1.22 a share, down 23% from $1.58 in the year-earlier quarter. The latest adjusted earnings were $1.52 a share. Revenue declined to $827.4 million from $1.01 billion.
A survey of analysts by FactSet was looking for GAAP earnings of $1.23 a share, or an adjusted $1.50, on revenue of $825 million.
For the fiscal first quarter, Skyworks estimated that it would earn an adjusted $1.65 a share at the midpoint of a revenue range of $870 million to $890 million.
The FactSet-derived survey was looking for GAAP net income of $1.34 a share, or an adjusted $1.61, on revenue of $871.4 million.
Skyworks shares were off 5.7% at $95.85 in after-hours trading after closing Tuesday's regular session up 1.2% at $101.59.
