reported a higher fourth-quarter profit, meeting analysts' expectations, despite the run-up in fuel costs.
Net income rose 23.3% to $21.2 million, or 37 cents a share, compared with $17.5 million, or 30 cents a share, for the same period last year. Operating revenue rose 37.6% to $326.7 million.
The consensus estimate was EPS of 37 cents on revenue of $306.9 million, according to a Thomson First Call survey.
Utah-based SkyWest currently operates as United Express, Delta Connection and Continental Connection carriers under contractual agreements with
United Airlines and
Delta Air Lines
, and under a marketing agreement with
