Sirius Launches Pearl Jam Station

announced that it will launch

Pearl Jam Radio

on Friday, Oct. 22, the 20th anniversary of the band's first public performance.

"Pearl Jam is unique in the history of the American music scene and has released some of the most influential music of the past two decades," Sirius XM president and chief content officer Scott Greenstein said. "From their love of vinyl to their respect for their fans to their dedication to social causes, the band's continuing legacy is something we're thrilled to celebrate with Pearl Jam Radio."

The channel will feature music spanning the band's 20 year long career as well as unreleased material and interviews.

The new station will also offer an interactive, fan-hosted weekly show about the band called

All Encompassing Trip

hosted by Tim Bierman, manager of Pearl Jam's official fan club "Ten Club," and Pearl Jam enthusiast radio talent, Rob Bleetstein.

The first day of Pearl Jam Radio will kick off at 6 p.m. ET with a special airing of the band's 10th anniversary concert recorded in Las Vegas in 2000.

Sirius shares are down more than 4% today to around $1.30. The satellite radio company plans to release third quarter report on Thursday, Nov. 4.
