Schering-Plough Plans Tutti-Frutti Clarinex

The Food and Drug Administration cleared a reformulated version of

Schering-Plough's

(SGP)

orally disintegrating Clarinex Reditabs.

The tablets can be taken once daily by adults and kids 6 years and older, the Kenilworth, N.J., company said Friday. The allergy medicine is available in two dosages, 2.5 milligrams and 5 milligrams of desloratadine.

Schering-Plough said the new formulation will be available in pharmacies in September and will come in a new "tutti frutti" flavor. Orally disintegrating Clarinex can be taken with or without water, the company says.

Schering-Plough rose 4 cents Friday to $20.14.
