, a maker of communication and aviation electronics for commercial and military aircraft, said Monday that it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Anzus, a privately owned developer of software that enables high-speed tactical data link processing and sensor correlation for the U.S. Department of Defense as well as foreign governments.
Under terms of the agreement, Rockwell will acquire all outstanding shares of Anzus in a cash transaction. Rockwell will absorb about 50 Anzus employees.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based company said that the acquisition will not have any material affect on its earnings for the fiscal years ending Sept. 30, 2006 and 2007.
"Anzus is an innovative company that will enhance Rockwell Collins' Tactical Data Link Integration solutions, providing software applications that will greatly augment our Network-Centric Operations capabilities," the company said.
