
Retail Stocks Had Their Worst Week of the Year
Retail stocks are suffering their worst week of the year following a slew of disappointing earnings results. The S&P 500's Retail ETF (XRT) - Get SPDR Retail ETF Report was down as much as 3.3% week to date. It's the worst week for the ETF since it dropped 4.2% in December 2016.
Foot Locker (FL) - Get Foot Locker Inc. Report , Ascena Retail Groupundefined and Sears (SHLD) were some of the biggest losers in retail this week. Ascena, which is the parent company of numerous clothing retailers, has experienced a 30% decline after adjusting its second half guidance to reflect pressures on the retail sector.
