Quinn to Leave Elk Board

The director says he plans to focus on other interests.

, a maker of roofing and building products, said David W. Quinn won't seek re-election to the company's board at the annual meeting scheduled for October.

Quinn has served on the Elk board since 1996, but he decided not to seek re-election in order to focus on other interests.

"I have worked with ElkCorp for many years and have the highest regard for the company. I believe Elk has a strong and capable management team that has the vision and leadership to evolve the business into a more complete building products company, with a bright future," Quinn said in a statement.

The Dallas-based company said during Quinn's time on the Elk board, he has served as the chairman of the audit committee and as a member of the compensation, corporate governance and executive committees.

Shares of Elk were giving up 2 cents to $32.44 Wednesday.
