put itself on the block Monday, hiring Citigroup and Oppenheimer to help it consider strategic alternatives.

Shares in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., perfume outfit were halted at $29.85 early Monday ahead of the news.

Parlux holds the licenses to manufacture and distribute the designer fragrance brands of Perry Ellis, Paris Hilton, GUESS?, XOXO, Ocean Pacific (or OP), Maria Sharapova, Andy Roddick, babyGund and Fred Hayman Beverly Hills. Parlux also recently signed licenses to manufacture and distribute Paris Hilton watches, cosmetics and handbags and other small leather accessories.
