said same-store sales fell in May.
Sales at stores open at least 18 months in its Outback Steakhouses chain fell 2.6% for the four weeks ended May 27. Same-store sales at the company's Carrabba's Italian Grills were down 0.4% while sales at Roy's were down 3.3%. Same store sales for the same period at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bars were up 7.4% while at Bonefish Grills they moved up 1.7%.
As a result of April and May sales being below expectations, the company will be revising its full year guidance and expects to provide revised guidance in conjunction with its second-quarter earnings release in late July.
The Tampa, Fla.-based restaurant company operates restaurants in all 50 states and 21 countries.
