Bearish bets against online dating website Match Group (MTCH) - Get Report  are at their highest since the company's 2015 IPO, according to S3 Analytics director Matthew Unterman.

Match Group, which owns dating apps and sites including Tinder and OKCupid, continues to attract the wrong kind of love. Even though short sellers have seen a mark-to-market paper loss of $27.5 million this year - a 10.5% loss - short interest has grown.

S3 estimates current short interest of 14.96 million shares with $288.1 million at risk. That's an increase of 48.6% for shares and 67.3% for dollars at risk since the start of this year. During that time, Match stock has gained 9.8%.

Match stock traded down 2.7% to $18.74 Thursday afternoon.
