, according to a published report Wednesday.

reported on the development, citing people who are familiar with the situation. However, the paper reported, any deal could be "complicated by a range of factors and is far from certain to take place."
Also, should the merger take place, the combined firm might be in line to get capital from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, the report said, again citing the people who have knowledge of the matter.
