has been chosen by the Defense Department and national security agencies to provide information technology, engineering and technical services in a deal worth up to $1.9 billion.

The five-year contract, to be completed by June 2012, is considered an indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity agreement, and will consist of providing engineering and technical support for weapons systems, subsystems and related processes for the Air Force Materiel Command, the company says.

"This award complements our array of contract vehicles and expands our ability to continue supporting AFMC's war-winning expeditionary capabilities to the warfighter," said MTC CEO David Gutridge in a prepared statement.

Shares gained 7.5% to $22.95 in premarket trading Tuesday.
