) -- U.S. stock futures were pointing to a rebound on Wall Street Monday following losses Friday that were led by disappointing corporate earnings.

European stocks were trading lower while Asian shares ended Monday's session mixed. Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 0.1% to close at 9,010.71, weighed down by a widening of Japan's trade deficit in September.

The economic calendar in the U.S. Monday is light on data.

U.S. stocks

on Friday plunged with investors spooked by a batch of high-profile earnings misses and the re-emergence of eurozone jitters.
