said David Heleniak, a senior partner at law firm Shearman & Sterling, will join the company as a vice chairman, managing director and member of the management committee.

Prior to becoming senior partner at Shearman & Sterling, Heleniak headed the firm's mergers and acquisitions group.

Shares of Morgan Stanley closed New York Stock Exchange trading Tuesday at $49.42 a share.
