NEW YORK (
has hired former U.S. Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. as a managing director and senior client relationship manager.

Ford will report directly to Gregory Fleming, President of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Paul J. Taubman, Morgan Stanley's investing bank chief.
"Consistent with our focus on providing clients with the best advice and long-term value, Harold will play an important role in executing a key business strategy at Morgan Stanley," said Fleming in a press release.
Ford served in Congress from 1996 to 2007 as a Democrat from the 9th district of Tennessee and also formally worked for Merrill Lynch.
Ford aborted his bid in 2010 for the New York representative of the United States Senate. During a run for a Tennessee U.S. Senate seat in 2006 the Republican National Committee (RNC) made an
