California Department of Water Resources
for the month of March.
Financial terms weren't disclosed. Mirant, formerly
, will supply the power out of its plants in the western U.S. The California Department of Water Resources is acting as the electricity buyer for the state, which is still trying to get through a power crisis.
Mirant, which is based in Atlanta, is the latest energy company to sell power to California.
signed a deal with the state
earlier this month and
supply agreement yesterday.
In afternoon trading on the
New York Stock Exchange
, Mirant lost 95 cents, or 3.7%, to $25.
