Men's Wearhouse CEO Faces Surgery

The retailer says founder George Zimmer has an infection that is affecting his aorta.

said CEO George Zimmer is being evaluated for an infection that has affected a graft in his aorta. Medical options are likely to include a surgical procedure.

"While my medical situation is significant, I am confident in my full recovery," Zimmer said in a postclose press release from the Houston-based apparel chain. "Men's Wearhouse has an outstanding veteran management team and I fully expect that the company will continue operating as usual during any absence necessitated by my medical condition."

Shares of Men's Wearhouse fell 13 cents to $32.51.
