Meg Whitman has stepped down from the board of HP Inc (HP) - Get Report , after serving as chairman since HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (HPE) - Get Report split into two independent companies in 2015, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
Whitman is said to be in the running for the CEO position at Uber, left vacant since Travis Kalanick stepped down last month.
HP Inc, elected Chip Bergh as independent board chairman to replace Whitman.
Since the companies separated in November 2015, HP Inc. handles printing and PC businesses while Hewlett Packard Enterprises manages technology solutions segments.
HP Inc. stock was slightly down in after-hours trading.
