inched higher after the company reported another month of positive same-store sales, its 15th in a row.

The Oak Brook, Ill., fast-food chain said sales at restaurants open longer than a year rose 6.4% from a year ago, while systemwide sales rose 10.6%, or 7.2% in constant currency. McDonald's said same-store sales rose across all its business segments for the eighth month in nine.

U.S. same-store sales rose 7.8% in July, while European same-store sales jumped 2.1% and Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa same-store sales rose 8.3% from last year.

The shares were recently up 5 cents, or 0.2%, to $26.39.
