McDonald's CEO Has Cancer Surgery

Charlie Bell, the 43-year-old president and CEO of
McDonald's

, had successful colorectal cancer surgery Wednesday afternoon, the company reported.
Bell, only two weeks ago, was named to replace the popular
Jim Cantalupo, who died suddenly of a heart attack on April 19.
Bell will retain his posts during what is expected to be a brief recuperative period, the fast-food giant reported.
