According to data from
First Call/Thomson Financial
, analysts expected the company to report a comparable-store sales increase of 1%. The retailer, which is based in St. Louis, said total sales for the five weeks ended Dec. 30 rose 3.8% to $2.86 billion from $2.75 billion in the prior year.
