Credit card giant MasterCard (MA) - Get Mastercard Inc. (MA) Report is said to be testing a biometric credit card that combines chip technology and fingerprints, USA Today reports. The company has run a couple of pilot programs in South Africa at a Pick n Pay supermarket chain and Absa Bank.

The company said trials in Europe and Asia will soon begin and that tests in the U.S. may come next year.

The card would work by inserting it into a reader and then placing your thumb on the card.
