Facebook's (FB) Mark Zuckerberg to Spend Two Months Away After Daughter's Birth - TheStreet

Facebook (FB) - Get Report founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on Friday that he is planning to take two months off upon the birth of his new daughter.

"Our new daughter is coming soon, and I'm planning to take two months of paternity leave again. This time, I'm going to take advantage of Facebook's option to take leave in parts," Zuckerberg wrote.

The CEO explained that once his daughter is born, he will take a month off to spend time with his wife, Priscilla, and his daughters. Zuckerberg will then return to work, and then take the entire month of December off.

"I'm looking forward to bonding with our new little one and taking Max on adventures," he said.

Facebook offers its employees four months of maternity and paternity leave because studies have indicated spending time with newborns is healthy for the entire family, Zuckerberg wrote.

Shares of Facebook were climbing higher on Friday and have surged over 45% year-to-date.
