said Friday that it signed definitive agreements to sell two of its hospitals in West Virginia.
The hospital operator will sell St. Joseph's hospital, a 325-bed property in Parkersburg, to Signature Hospital of Dallas. It will sell the 155-bed Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston to Herbert J. Thomas memorial hospital association of South Charleston, W.Va.
LifePoint has classified both hospitals as assets held for sale since it purchased them from
in June. The company said it will use the majority of the proceeds from the sales to pay company debt. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
LifePoint's shares were lower by 16 cents, or 0.4%, at $36.01 in recent trading Friday.
