
Hot Large-Cap Tech Stocks Like Facebook Just Got Shredded
All three major U.S. indexes closed in the red on Monday, as escalating tensions between North Korea and the U.S. sparked defensive action by investors.
The tech sector was one of the hardest hit on Monday.
The ever-popular FANG stocks, Facebook (FB) - Get Report , Apple (AAPL) - Get Report , Netflix (NFLX) - Get Report , and Google (GOOGL) - Get Report all closed lower on Monday. Shares of Facebook closed lower over 4%, Amazon closed down nearly 2%, shares of Netflix got hit and closed lower over 4.5% and Alphabet closed down over 1.6%.
Shares of semiconductor giant Micron (MU) - Get Report , whose shares are higher roughly 65% year-to-date, fell as much as 4% on Monday, as investors await its fourth-quarter earnings results after Tuesday's close.
Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba (BABA) - Get Report also came under pressure on Monday, with shares falling as much as 6%.
