Shares of United Continental  (UAL) - Get Free Report are up 6.5% Tuesday after the company hired Scott Kirby as president

Kirby previously served as the president of American Airlines (AAL) - Get Free Report and did a very, very good job there, TheStreet's Jim Cramer, co-manager of the Action Alerts PLUS portfolio, said on CNBC's "Mad Dash" segment.

However, Cramer didn't necessarily agree with investors' optimistic reaction. While it is certainly good news for the airline to improve its management team, it doesn't justify such a flight for the stock.

Cramer noted United had been making many notable improvements before Kirby arrived, particularly with its on-time flights and timely delivered baggage. But world travel has not been that good lately.

With that being said, the airlines have had pressure on their stocks unlike other transport industries, Cramer concluded.
