May passenger traffic rose 11.3% from a year-ago period to 1.9 billion revenue passenger miles.
JetBlue's capacity during May rose 21.9% as measured by the so-called available seat miles to 2.4 billion. The passenger load factor for the month was 79.1%, a decrease of 750 basis points from May 2005.
The airline flew 1.4 million passengers in the month, a rise of 17.8% over the previous year.
The New York-based company said that traffic at JetBlue for the first five months of this year increased 21.9% to 9.5 billion revenue passenger miles and capacity increased 26.1% to 11.3 billion available seat miles. The passenger load factor was 83.4% compared with 86.3% in 2005.
Shares fell 43 cents Tuesday to $10.36.
