said Tuesday that it has received two contracts, one for an oil-sands project in Canada and another for a bridge-building job in Scotland.
The Canadian contract went to a Jacobs unit from the Northern Lights Partnership, a joint venture of Synenco Energy and SinoCanada Petroleum. The Northern Lights project, located in Alberta, is an oil-sands mining and upgrading facility.
Jacobs is working with Synenco to minimize natural gas use and lower emissions. Financial terms of the contract weren't disclosed.
Under the other contract, from Transport Scotland, a Jacobs division will provide supervision and engineering services during the creation of a new bridge and its associated approach roads over the Forth Estuary at Kincardine, Scotland. Transport Scotland is the agency responsible for major infrastructure projects across the country.
Site work on the $221 million project is scheduled to begin this month.
Shares of Jacobs were down $2.17, or 3%, at $70.05.
