, the Dutch financial services giant, plans to repay the Dutch government 5.61 billion euros ($8.26 billion) on Dec. 21.
The total repayment includes a principal amount of 5 billion euros, plus interest of 259 million euros and a prepayment premium of 347 million.
ING received 10 billion euros from the Dutch government last year to help it weather the financial crisis. ING launched a rights issue in November of 7.5 billion euros to repay the aid ahead of schedule.
ING said it would begin working on paying the remaining aid it received.
