
India's Eros in Talks With Apple, Amazon, Netflix to Sell its Film, Music Libraries
Indian movie production company Eros International plc (EROS) - Get Report stock jumped 24% mid-morning Monday on reports it's in talks with Netflix (NFLX) - Get Report , Amazon.com (AMZN) - Get Report and Apple Inc (AAPL) - Get Report about the sale of its vast music and film libraries, Reuters reported.
India is the world's fastest growing Internet services market, making Indian television an attractive investment for content streaming companies. Eros has the rights to more than 3,000 Indian films, including numerous Bollywood blockbusters.
Though discussions are in early phases, an insider said a deal could be valued at as much as $1 billion. Eros is said to have previously approached Sony Corp (SNE) - Get Report , Viacom (VIAB) - Get Report , Star and Zee about a deal.
