IBM (IBM - Get Report) is due to report its first-quarter earnings on Tuesday after the market close. 

The company is expected to report revenue of $18.5 billion and earnings of $2.22 per share based on a survey of 18 analysts by FactSet.

In the same period a year ago the company posted earnings of $2.45 a share on sales of $19.1 billion. The stock has risen 17.8% since the company last reported earnings on Jan. 22.

In its fourth quarter earnings report, IBM topped expectations on revenue, bringing in $21.8 billion for the quarter compared with a consensus of $21.73 billion.

Year to date, IBM shares are up 25.3%.

IBM is currently trading at a price-to-forward-earnings ratio of 10.3 based on the 12-month estimates of 22 analysts surveyed by FactSet.
