LOUISVILLE, Ky. (TheStreet) -- Humana (HUM) - Get Report raised its full-year earnings projections following first-quarter earnings that beat consensus estimates.

Humana is raising its full-year earnings outlook to a range of $5.55 to $5.65 a share, up from its previous estimate of $5.15 to $5.35 a share, mainly to reflect the impact of favorable prior-period reserve development impacting first-quarter earnings, partially offset by a higher effective tax rate now anticipated. Analysts expect year earnings of $5.53 a share.
