fell by 24 cents, or 4.7%, to $4.90 in the premarket session after the company priced its public common stock offering of 45 million shares at $4.75 a share. The three-month average daily volume for Conseco is 6.9 million, according to Yahoo! Finance.

Hovnanian

(HOV) - Get Report

dropped by 40 cents, or 9.5%, to $3.83 in the premarket session after the company late Wednesday posted a fourth-quarter loss of $250.8 million, or $3.21 a share, which included $146.4 million in pretax charges. Revenue fell to $437.4 million from $721.4 million in the year-ago quarter. Analysts were expecting a loss of $1.40 a share on revenue of $454.1 million, according to a poll by

BioDelivery Sciences

(BDSI) - Get Report

slumped by 17 cents, or 4.2%, to $3.85 in the premarket session even after the company announced positive Phase II trial results for BEMA Buprenorphine for the treatment of pain following dental surgery. The three-month average daily volume for BioDelivery is 170,000 shares.

Smart Balance

( SMBL) gained 11 cents, or 2%, to $5.65 in the premarket session after the company announced that its board of directors authorized a two-year stock repurchase program of up to $25 million, set to begin next year. The three-month average daily volume for Smart Balance is 527,000.
