Hottest Oil Stock: Exxon Mobil Tops Poll

) -- After a week of polling, and 4,300 votes, the users' pick for the best oil stock to buy should be a surprise to none.

Bringing up the rear are the foreign entries,

Royal Dutch Shell

(RDS.A)

and

PetroChina

(PTR) - Get Report

, which garnered 6.4% and 10.3% of the vote, respectively.

Coming in fourth and third, with 23.1% and 27.6% of the vote, were

Chevron

(CVX) - Get Report

and

ConocoPhillips

(COP) - Get Report

.

But the grand prize winner this week, with 32.6% of the votes, is

Exxon Mobil

(XOM) - Get Report

.

Granted, most voters were hardly going out on a limb in casting their lot with the biggest oil operation in the U.S. Still, the stock is down 1.4% since the day our poll came out, and off 13.4% since the year began.
