plans to recall 1.35 million Fit subcompacts to fix defective wiring in the headlights, according to reports.

Honda will recall 143,000 cars in the United States, and 734,000 cars in Japan. The Fit recall in Japan will cost Honda about 3.6 billion yen ($42.8 million), the

The Japanese automaker also said it will recall Fit cars in Europe and Asia. It will recall 385,000 units in Europe, where the model is called the Jazz,

No accidents have been reported because of the defect, Honda said.
