) -- Davy Jones, former lead singer of The Monkees, died Wednesday of a heart attack. He was 66.
The medical examiner's office in Martin County, Florida, confirmed the death of the English pop singer who was known for such songs as "
Last Train to Clarksville," "
I'm a Believer," "
Daydream Believer " and the theme from "
The Monkees."
