Facebook Inc. (FB) - Get Report has been one of the best-performing stocks on the market for years, here is what investors should look for in today's earnings release, according to Marc Chaikin of Chaikin Analytics.

There are three metrics that matter the most, according to Chaikin: monthly average users, revenue per user, and the companies performance in its new growth area of Asia/Pacific.

Action Alerts Plus holding Facebook has traditionally shown impressive growth in those areas that matter and the buyers will be looking for that trend to continue.

The company is expected to report earnings of $1.94 per share on revenue of $12.55 billion, according to analysts polled by FactSet. That's up from the $1.41 per share on revenue of $8.8 billion it reported in the year-ago period.

Chaikin is also bullish on the company's leadership.

"This guy is not tone deaf," Chaikin said of CEO Mark Zuckerberg, praising the executive's response to concerns about privacy and the proliferation of fake news.
