agreed to a four-year sponsorship deal with Anschutz's AEG that will make Herbalife a founding partner of the Home Depot Center stadium in Carson, Calif.
The nutrition company didn't disclose terms of the partnership, saying only that it is a multimillion-dollar arrangement. But Herbalife said it will get big signs at the stadium and will be a presenting sponsor of the JPMorgan Chase Open tennis tournament starting next Monday. The company will also be a sponsor of the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team, the Tour of California bicycle road race in February 2006 and the Bay to Breakers 12-kilometer footrace held every May in San Francisco.
Herbalife will also have rights for display and sampling at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
"Our organization is pleased to enter into this extensive agreement with Herbalife, a dynamic company focused on helping people achieve healthy and active lifestyles," said AEG's Shawn Hunter. "With the vision and energy of their management team being so in sync with our core business, this agreement, tying Herbalife into so many of our properties will clearly be extremely rewarding and beneficial to both of our organizations. We look forward to a long and successful partnership."
On Monday, Herbalife shares rose 8 cents to $23.07.
