Communications-equipment maker

Harris

(HRS)

signed an agreement in which

DG Capitel International

, a Thailand-based reseller of telecommunications products, will distribute its TRuepoint microwave digital radios.

The programmable software used in TRuepoint radios allows operators to serve multiple applications, capacities and frequencies from a single platform. As a result, TRuepoint enables carriers to significantly lower operational costs and broaden their network reach, the company said.

"The growth in the number of cellular subscribers continues to be a fundamental driver of demand for more cost-efficient backhaul in the Asia-Pacific region," Harris said in a press release. "As service providers move toward 3G services, the ability of TRuepoint to provide wireless backhaul for voice and data services makes it the obvious solution for the more complex data service requirements and higher data rates we can expect to see."

Shares of Harris were down 4 cents at $45.48.
