Harris Gets Census Contract

said it has been selected as the system integrator in a five-year, $600 million project from the U.S. Census Bureau to automate field data collection.

The program will integrate the automated systems required for field census data for the 2010 Census, the company said. Harris will function as the systems integrator and provide program management in a consortium of companies.
The company's stock closed Thursday at $47.33, up 36 cents.
