Grocery Stocks: On the Up and Up

A number of grocery stocks are trading in the green despite a slumping broader market.

President Obama's State of the Union speech Tuesday did little to bolster confidence Wednesday, as investors led the Dow down 0.6% and 0.8%, respectively. But a number of grocery stocks were trading comfortably in the green.

Whole Foods was rising 0.3% to $12.50.

Kroger was up 2.9% to $21.94.

Safeway was up 2.7% to $21.07.

SuperValu was up 2% to $17.98.

Winn Dixie

was up 0.2% to $9.51.

On the losing side:

Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. was down 9.4% to $3.96.

Costco was down 1.4% to $41.96.
