Alphabet Inc.'s (GOOGL) - Get Report Google Play app store removed over 500 apps that were found by U.S.-based cybersecurity firm Lookout to have the capability to spread spyware on mobile phones, Forbes reported.
The infected apps included mobile games, weather apps, online radio, photo editing, education, health, fitness and home video camera apps.
The firm discovered that the Igexin advertising software development kit embedded in the apps was the vulnerability allowing outside servers to communicate with the devices and spread the malware.
