fourth-quarter results were uneventful, but its 2011 surpassed expectations.
During the quarter the video game retailer earned $237.8 million, or $1.56 a share, on revenue of $3.69 billion. Analysts were looking for a profit of $1.56 a share on revenue of $3.71 billion.
Looking ahead, GameStop foresees first quarter earnings in the range of 53 cents to 55 cents a share, and full-year profit between $2.82 and $2.92 a share. Wall Street estimates earnings of 51 cents and $2.66 cents a share for the first-quarter and full-year, respectively.
